Coleman Engineering have been retained by Linda County Water District to reconstruct their aging Arboga Road Sewer Lift Station. The lift station was an old wet-well dry -well arrangement that had exceeded its useful life.
Coleman Engineering provided detailed civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation design necessary to develop constructible plans and specifications for the reconstructed sewer lift station.
As part of the reconstruction, the dry-well was abandoned completely and filled in to match the existing grade. The controls for the sewer lift station are now situated above ground for easier access and trouble-shooting.
The new sewer lift station design increased flow from 750 gpm to 1550 gpm. The new pumps are over-sized to ensure future increases in flow can be accommodated. The new lift station is a duplex lift station with two submersible pumps included in the design. Each of the pumps is capable of pumping the full design capacity of the pump station individually and work on alternate schedules for even wear. Should the flow increase beyond normal demand levels, the pumps will work together.
Existing electrical equipment including instrumentation and controls, will be replaced to work in conjunction with the District’s existing control and remote alarm system.
